BASF 2013 Excellent PHD Prize Awarded to PhD Candidate Liu Weifeng

During the Apr.18^th-19^th, BASF 2013 Excellent PhD Prize, together with BASF Research Forum Asia Pacific 2013, was successfully held at BASF Innovation Campus Asia Pacific Center. The PhD candidate of Chemical Engineering, Mr. Liu Weifeng, supervised by Prof. Li Bo-Geng, was awarded with BASF 2013 Excellent PhD Prize. Mr. Liu is the first PhD candidate awarded by this prize in our department.

BASF Excellent PhD Prize was set up in 2011. This year, 35 PhD candidates were invited from 20 universities and research institutes from Asian region, including China mainland, Taiwan, Honkong, South Korea, Japan and Singapore. The top four winners got the opportunity as Prize to take part in 2013 BASF International Summer Course at the BASF headquarter in Ludwigshafen, Germany in this summer. BASF will cover all the expense during the visit, which is particularly attractive to the PhD candidates from Asian region.

This event will greatly facilitate the direct contact of our young scientists and engineers with the first-class international chemical companies. It will also help our young scientists and engineers to look into the future development trend of chemical industry. Of course, it is beneficial for the corporation between China and Germany.
