Maximization of the efficiency of polymerization process

Polymer Reaction Engineering mainly serves mass industrial production, to strengthen the process as the main task, to optimize the process technology, equipment and systems, to pursue the maximization of space-time efficiency and material utilization. The study includes the kinetics, mass and heat transfer in polymerization process, design and scale-up of the polymerization reactor, modeling, simulation, optimization and control of the polymerization process. The mathematical modeling of polymerization process on the basis of kinetics study can predict the molecular weight and its distribution in various types of polymerization reactor. The design and development of reactor involves the professional knowledge of almost the entire engineering disciplines, like thermochemical and transport properties, fluid mixing and flow, reaction mechanism and kinetics. In our key laboratory, viewed from the scale of the reactor and process, the reactor/process design, control and optimization methods are studied aiming at process efficiency and product performance.
