Introduction
Founded in 2013, our group is broadly interested in both fundamental and applied aspects of multifunctional polymer materials. Before the founding of the group, the senior group leaders had already established international reputation in shape memory polymers, biomimetic smart polymers, and hydrogels. Building upon this solid foundation, we aim to significantly broaden our research into various other types of multifunctional polymer materials, with particular emphasis on new enabling mechanisms, unprecedented material properties, and novel applications. In addition to pursuing scientifically intriguing concepts, we are also active in various industrial collaborations, with the goal to make positive impact on issues critically relevant to the human society (energy, environment, and health).
The senior group member is Prof. Tao Xie. While developing our own core competence, we are actively involved in collaborations with international leading scientists both in China and abroad.
